Sopore, Nov 09 (KNO): Javed Ahmed Rana, the Minister for Jal Shakti, Forest, Ecology and Environment and Tribal Affairs on Saturday said Jammu and Kashmir has successfully emerged from a decade of immense challenges and is now on the brink of a new dawn. He said that despite the challenges, the government is prepared to face any hurdles ahead, although it may take time for people to fully adjust to this new reality. Speaking at the inauguration of the Water Supply Scheme (WSS) at the Fruit Mandi here, Rana hailed the people of Jammu and Kashmir, saying that despite facing numerous adversities, they continued to elect their own government. “I salute the people of Jammu and Kashmir for their courage and resolve,” he said. “Your elected government is here, at your doorstep, to serve you.” The minister said the region, after a decade of challenges, is now witnessing a significant transformation. “Jammu and Kashmir is seeing a new dawn,” he said, adding that it might take some time for people to fully embrace this change. “Nothing will stop us, and we are ready to face any challenge.” Addressing the difficulties faced by fruit growers, Rana acknowledged the severe impact of obstacles such as highway blockades, which have often left fruit-laden trucks stranded and leading to financial losses. He reassured that the government is committed to preventing such issues from recurring. “The challenges faced by fruit growers must be fought collectively, with shared responsibility,” he said, adding that the J&K cabinet is dedicated to serving the people without any bias. The minister reiterated the government’s commitment to transparency and service. “We have been elected by the people, and we reaffirm that we won’t let anyone suffer. We are dedicated to serving them,” he said. On the government’s key priorities, the Jal Shakti minister spoke about ongoing progress in the water supply sector, particularly the "Har Ghar Nal Se Jal" initiative. He announced that the government is working to ensure that all households in the region will soon have reliable access to water. “It’s the people’s right to have water reach their taps, and we are committed to making it a reality,” he said. Rana urged citizens to trust the government’s commitment and resolve and assured them that the administration is fully prepared to tackle any remaining challenges. “The elected leadership is dedicated to building a brighter and more prosperous future for Jammu and Kashmir,” he said—(KNO)
